Menpora Dito: FIFA U-17 World Cup is a Good Opportunity for Young Indonesian Players

Dream - Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Dito Ariotedjo said that the FIFA U-17 World Cup will be a good opportunity for young Indonesian players. This championship will definitely be a valuable experience for the Red and White squad.

"Certainly, the U-17 World Cup is a good opportunity for our young players," said Menpora Dito after attending the 45th Anniversary of AMPI at the Golkar Party DPP Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.

Menpora Dito explained that Indonesia is very ready to host the event. Various preparations are being finalized, including several stadiums that will be used in the future.

"Actually, this was originally for the U-20, we are already prepared. Now we are just changing it to the U-17," explained Menpora Dito.

Furthermore, Menpora Dito said that they will invite PSSI for a meeting to discuss several matters related to the organization of the FIFA U-17 World Cup, which is planned to take place in November 2023. The meeting with PSSI, according to Menpora Dito, will take place as soon as possible.

"We will try to sit down together with PSSI to discuss this organization. In essence, we all welcome it and are enthusiastic. We will discuss it maybe next week. We will continue to find the best solutions," said Menpora Dito.

Menpora Dito then said that President Joko Widodo wants the 22 stadiums in Indonesia to be used anytime and anywhere.

These stadiums will be utilized for various national and international events.

"The target is for the 22 stadiums in Indonesia to be used anytime and anywhere. For Jakarta International Stadium, there are some notes regarding its doors and parking. This is my plan to visit JIS in the near future, because President also wants JIS to be renovated according to the standards," concluded Menpora Dito.
