Based on CCTV footage operated by the Semarang City Transportation Agency, it is known that the collapse of the traffic cones occurred on Monday, August 21, 2023, at around 2:00 PM WIB.

There have been at least two incidents of collapsed traffic cones on Jalan Sultan Agung due to drivers not obeying the rules.

First on August 16 and August 21, 2023. The damaged traffic cones have now been repaired and replaced.

Danang urges drivers to continue to obey traffic regulations to prevent unwanted incidents.

"Be careful on the road, obey traffic signs and signals, concentrate, focus, don't use your phone and smoke while driving," said Danang, as quoted from liputan6.com.

Meanwhile, according to data from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the air temperature on Monday in Semarang ranged from 27 to 34 degrees Celsius from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM WIB.

The air humidity ranged from 40-70 percent, indicating fairly normal conditions.

Previously, a viral video of melting traffic cones in Semarang, Central Java, circulated on social media. This was related to the hot weather in the second semester of 2023 that occurred in several cities in Indonesia.

Like the video uploaded by the TikTok account @devanandhika, which showed the real impact of the hot weather in Semarang, Central Java.

In the video, the passengers in the car recorded the atmosphere on the streets of Semarang during the summer season. From inside the car, it can be seen that the weather is very bright with intense sunlight.

However, the highlight is the appearance of the traffic cone in the middle of the road. The object used as a road divider should be standing upright, but in the video, it is seen melting.

It is not because it is broken or damaged by someone, but the melting of the road divider is suspected to be due to the bottom part melting from the heat of the asphalt and the sun.

However, traffic cones are made of thick and strong plastic. But, the extreme heat on the road managed to make them melt simultaneously.

“Semarang is extremely hot,” wrote the video caption.

According to BMKG's prediction, the temperature in Semarang this month, during sunny weather in the daytime, can reach 36 degrees Celsius. Unfortunately, the exact location of the recorded video was not mentioned.

Nevertheless, the video went viral on social media and has been viewed more than 1.5 million times. Not only that, the video also received various responses from netizens in the comment section.
