Prayer for the 27th Day of Ramadan

The prayer for the 27th day of Ramadan can be practiced during itikaf in the mosque. Itikaf is a good effort to attain the night of Lailatul Qadar, especially on the 27th night which is estimated to be the night better than a thousand months.

The majority of Muslims perform itikaf when they have entered the last ten nights of Ramadan. On that special night, every worship performed is equal to the worship of a thousand months. As an effort to attain it, increase voluntary prayers such as tahiyatul masjid prayer, tahajud prayer, hajat prayer, and lailatul qadar prayer.

Then continue with reciting the Quran, increasing remembrance and supplication, studying religious knowledge, and giving charity to the poor.

اَللّٰهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي فِيْهِ فَضْلَ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ وَشَيْرُ اُمُوْرِيْ فِيْهِ مِنَ الْعُسْرِ اِلَى الْيُسْرِ وَاقْبَلْ مَعْذِرَتِيْ وَهُذَّا عَنِّيَّ ذَنْبِيْ وَالْوِزْرِ يَا رَؤُوْفًا بِعِبَادِهِ الصَّالِحِيْنَ

Allahummarzuqnii fiihi fadhla laylatil qadri wa shayyir umuurii fiihi minal ‘usri ilal yusri waqbal ma’adziratii wa hutsa ‘anniyadz dzanba wal wizra yaa ra’uufan bi’ibadhihish shaalihiin

Meaning: "O Allah, bless me in this month by attaining Lailatul Qadar. Change the direction of my life from difficulty to ease. Accept all my apologies and forgive my sins and wrongdoings. O Most Merciful to Your righteous servants."

The prayer for the 27th day of Ramadan also includes requests for a more comfortable life, forgiveness, and seeking forgiveness for all sins. Considering that Ramadan is a month full of forgiveness and prayers will be answered, let us make the most of this moment.

Prayer for the Night of Lailatul Qadar According to Sunnah

Performing the Night of Lailatul Qadar prayer is done on the odd nights in the last ten days of Ramadan as an effort to attain the blessings and pleasure of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. After performing the prayer, it is recommended to recite the prayer for the Night of Lailatul Qadar.

There are two versions of the prayer for the Night of Lailatul Qadar according to the Sunnah. Both of these prayers are narrated from Sayyidah Aisha radhiyallahu'anha. The prayer for the Night of Lailatul Qadar is also widely practiced by the Muslim community.

Narration of Imam Tirmidhi

The first version of the prayer for the Night of Lailatul Qadar according to the Sunnah is based on the narration of Imam Tirmidhi. Here is the recitation of the prayer:

اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ كَرِيْمٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma innaka afuwwun karimun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni

Meaning: "O Allah, indeed You are the Most Forgiving, Most Generous. You love forgiveness, so forgive me (forgive us)."

Narration of the 5 Hadith Imams except Abu Dawud

Meanwhile, the second version of the prayer for the Night of Lailatul Qadar according to the Sunnah is based on the narration of the five Hadith Imams except Abu Dawud. Here is the prayer:

 اَللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ اَلْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allāhumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘annī (‘annā if read in congregation)

Meaning: "O Allah, indeed You are the Most Forgiving. You also like forgiveness. Therefore, forgive me (forgive us)."

Prayer to be Reunited with Ramadan Next Year

The last days of Ramadan are a time to bid farewell to this blessed month. Of course, we hope to meet Ramadan again next year. However, no one knows how long a person's life will be, so we may not be able to meet Ramadan again next year. Therefore, we can only pray that Allah SWT grants us a long life so that we can meet Ramadan again next year.

Praying to be reunited with Ramadan next year is important as an effort so that we can meet the holy month again in the following year. To be reunited with the month, recite the following prayer to be conveyed to Ramadan next year!

اَللّٰهُمَّ سَلِّمْنـِي إِلَى رَمَضَانَ وَسَلِّمْ لِـي رَمَضَانَ وَتَسَلَّمْهُ مِنِي مُتَقَبَّلاً

Allahumma sallimni ilaa raomadhona wa sallimli romadhona wa taslamhu minni mutaqobbalan.

Meaning: "O Allah, guide me to Ramadan and bring Ramadan to me, and accept my deeds in the month of Ramadan."

Prayer to be United with Ramadan Next Year

As Ramadan comes to an end, recite the following prayer so that we can be reunited with Ramadan next year.

أَللَّهُمَّ لاَ تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنْ صِيَامِنَا إِيَّاهُ، فَإِنْ جَعَلْتَهُ فَاجْعَلْنِيْ مَرْحُوْمًا وَ لاَ تَجْعَلْنِيْ مَحْرُوْمًا

Allahumma laa taj'alhu aakhiral 'ahdi min shiyaamina iyyaah, fa-in ja'altahu faj'alnii marhuuman wa laa taj'alnii mahruuma

Meaning: "O Allah, do not make this fast the last one in my life. If You decree otherwise, then make my fast one that is blessed, not empty."
