Dream - For the first time in history, Indonesia exports ready-to-eat food for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. This export is carried out by PT Halalan Thayyiban Indonesia Tbk (HATI), a business unit of Wong Solo Group.

The President Commissioner of HATI, Puspo Wardoyo, said that the company received the order from the Saudi Arabian company, Motawifs Pilgrims for South-East Asia Countries Company (Mashariq). In addition, Wong Solo was also appointed by Mashariq as the food factory operator in Mecca.

“For Indonesia, exporting ready-to-eat food for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims to Saudi Arabia is the first time, so this is also a new history for us,” said Puspo quoted from Merdeka.com, Monday, April 17, 2023.

Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas also appreciates the achievement of PT HATI which has gained trust from Saudi Arabian companies to supply ready-to-eat food for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

According to him, Indonesia can take economic benefits from Hajj and Umrah activities, because every year the funds deposited in Saudi Arabia are very large. Especially for food for this year's Hajj pilgrims, the value of the expenditure reaches IDR 1.5 trillion.

“In 2023, the number of Hajj pilgrims from Indonesia reached 221,000 people. The government pays around IDR 18 trillion, so the hope is that part of what we pay will return to Indonesia through the provision of food like Wong Solo,” said Yaqut.

The first stage of the export order for ready-to-eat food with the brand Makanku from Mashariq reached 1,275,000 packages with a value of SAR 16,575 million or around IDR 66.9 billion.
