Assalamu‘alaikum dara qaumin mu’minin wa ataakum maa tuu‘adun ghadan mu’ajjalun, wa inna insya-Allahu bikum lahiqun

Meaning: "Peace be upon you, O resting place of the faithful people. The promise of God that was delayed has come to you, and we will surely follow you."

3. Pray and Remember Allah Facing the Qibla

After greeting, sit near the grave of the person you will pray for. After that, start reciting prayers and remembrance of the cemetery pilgrimage. You can start with reciting istighfar, tasbih, takbir, tahmid, and other prayers.

4. Short Cemetery Pilgrimage Prayer for the Deceased

When you are on a pilgrimage, recite the following short cemetery pilgrimage prayer for the deceased:

اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ

Allahummaghfirlahu warhamhu wa ‘afihi wa’fu anhu

Meaning: "O Allah! Forgive him, have mercy on him, grant him well-being, pardon his mistakes."

Allahummaghfirlahu warhamhu wa ‘afihi wa’fu anhu wakrim nuzulahu, wa wassi’ madkhalahu, waghsilhu bilmai was salji, wal baradi, wa naqqihi minal khathaya, kama yunaqqas saubul abyadu minad danas. I ask Allah to bless him with a better home than his home, a better family than his family, a better spouse than his spouse, and to admit him to Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire."
