Order of Tahlil and Yasin Recitation

Before reciting the tahlil yasin prayer, it is advisable to start by reciting Surah Yasin complete with its tahlil. The order of tahlil yasin recitation usually begins with reciting the introductory prayer of Surah Al-Fatihah, then Surah Al-Fatihah, Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas.

Then continue by reciting several verses of the Quran such as Surah Al-Baqarah verses 1-5, verse 163, verses 285 and 286, Ayatul Kursi, Surah Hud verse 73, and Surah Al-Ahzab verse 33.

In addition, there is also a sequence of thayyibah sentences that need to be recited when reciting tahlil, namely the sentence of tasbih, tahmid, tahlil, and istighfar.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ. حَمْدًا شَاكِرِينَ، حَمْدًا نَاعِمِينَ، حَمْدًا يُوَافِي نِعَمَهُ وَيُكَافِئُ مَزِيدَهُ، يَا رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَمَا يَنْبَغِي لِجَلَالِ وَجْهِكَ وَعَظِيمِ سُلْطَانِكَ. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَصَلِّمْ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَلَى آلِ سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ.

Meaning: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds. Praise be to Allah, the One we thank, the One who bestows blessings, and the One who rewards abundantly. O our Lord, all praise is for You, as befits the glory of Your Face and the greatness of Your Sovereignty. O Allah, bless and grant peace to our master Muhammad, and to the family of our master Muhammad."

اللَّهُمَّ تَقَبَّلْ وَأَوْشِلْ الثَّوَابَ مَا قُرَئْنَاهُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ الْعَظِيمِ وَمَا حَلَّلْنَا وَمَا سَبَّحْنَا وَمَا اسْتَغْفَرْنَا وَمَا شَاءَيْنَا عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ هَدِيَّةً وَأَوْشِلَةً وَرَحْمَةً نَازِلَةً وَبَرَكَةً شَامِلَةً إِلَى حَضْرَةِ حَبِيبِنَا وَشَفِيْعِنَا وَقُرَّةِ عَيْنِنَا سَيِّدِنَا وَمَوْلَانَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَإِلَى جَمِيْعِ إِخْوَانِهِ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَالْأَوْلِيَاءِ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِيْنَ وَالصَّحَابَةِ وَالتَّابِعِيْنَ وَالْعُلَمَاءِ الْعَالِمِيْنَ وَالْمُشَنَّفِيْنَ الْمُخْلِصِيْنَ وَجَمِيْعِ الْمُجَاهِدِيْنَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ، وَمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ.

Meaning: "O Allah, accept and reward us for what we have recited from the great Quran, and for what we have made lawful, what we have glorified, what we have sought forgiveness for, and what we have desired for our master Muhammad, peace be upon him, as a gift, a reward, a descending mercy, and a comprehensive blessing to the presence of our beloved, our intercessor, the delight of our eyes, our master and leader Muhammad, peace be upon him, and to all his brothers among the prophets, messengers, saints, martyrs, righteous people, companions, followers, knowledgeable scholars, sincere authors, and all the mujahideen in the way of Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, and the close angels."

Prayer of Tahlil Yasin 3

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, bestow Your mercy and forgiveness upon the inhabitants of the graves, both male and female Muslims, believers and believers, from the eastern and western parts of the earth, in the sea and on land, especially to (Fulan bin Fulan), and our parents, grandparents, and ancestors, and those who have gathered us here for their sake.

Prayer of Tahlil Yasin 4

O Allah, send down Your mercy and forgiveness upon the inhabitants of the graves, those who have uttered the testimony of faith (Laailaaha illallaah Muhammadur rasulullaah) - There is no god but Allah, and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. O Allah, show us the truth as true and enable us to follow it, and show us falsehood as falsehood and enable us to abstain from it.

Allaahumma anzilir rahmata walmaghfirota 'alaa ahlil qubuuri min ahli laa ilaaha illallaahu muhammadur rasuulullaah. Allaahumma arinal haqqo haqqon warzuqnat tibaa'ahu, wa arinal baathila baathilan warzuqnajtinaabahu.

Prayer of Tahlil Yasin 5

O Allah, grant good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.

O Allah, guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom You have bestowed favor, not of those who have evoked [Your] anger or of those who are astray.

Rabbanaa aatinaa fiddunyaa hasanah, wafil aakhiroti hasanah waqinaa 'adzaaban naar. Subhaana rabbika rabbil 'izzati 'ammaa yashifuun, wasalaamun 'alal mursaliina walhamdu lillaahi rabbil 'aalamiin.
