The Story of the Arabian Prince who was in a Coma for 18 Years, Dubbed The Sleeping Prince

Dream - Known as 'The Sleeping Prince', Saudi Arabian prince, Al Waleed bin Khalid bin Talal Al Saud, was in a coma for 18 years.

Al Waleed was in a coma for over a decade after being involved in an accident in 2005.

Even until today, Al Waleed is still fully dependent on a ventilator machine to survive.

His story is heartbreaking to the world after his father, Khalid, refused to remove his respiratory support.

Moreover, Al Waleed reportedly responded by moving his fingers when 'communicating' with his sister, Noura binti Talal, in October 2020.

Despite all the efforts made, including bringing in three top doctors from the United States and one from Spain, it did not yield any results.

However, Khalid still holds great hope that his son will regain consciousness someday in the future.

"Someone asked me, why not remove the life support? I answered that if it is God's will for him to die in that accident, then he would be in his grave now," said Khalid.

In 2005, Al Waleed was involved in an accident on the road while studying at a military school in London.

As a result of the accident, Al Waleed suffered severe bleeding in his brain.

The bleeding required Al Waleed to be in a coma for 18 years.

Al Waleed has to rely entirely on a ventilator to keep on living.
