The World's Most Expensive Vehicle License Plate Sold for Rp223 Billion, What's the Number Like?

Dream - Dubai is perhaps one of the countries that most frequently creates new records for license plate sales. Recently, this wealthy Arab country broke the Guinness World Record for the world's most expensive license plate, priced at 55 million dirhams or about Rp223 billion.

The plate was sold in an auction held by Emirates Auction on April 8, 2023. According to Lifestyle Asia, the plate in question is the P7 license plate.

The billion-dollar plate is equivalent to the value of a million-dollar luxury apartment in the most luxurious neighborhood in Mumbai. Meanwhile, all funds from the sale of the plate and other auctions will be used for a campaign.

This record set by Dubai follows the world's most expensive license plate created in 2008. In 2008, the number 1 license plate of an Abu Dhabi car was sold for 52.2 million dirhams or equivalent to Rp211 billion.

The P7 plate initially started with a bid of 15 million dirhams and the number skyrocketed before closing at the selling price. However, the identity of the buyer of the P7 license plate was not disclosed.

P7 is not the only expensive item sold at the auction. Several other unique license plates were also offered and sold. Among them are ten two-digit plates such as AA19, AA22, AA80, O71, X36, W78, H31, Z37, J57, and N41. There are also plates like Y900, Q22222, and Y6666.

Sneak Peek Inside The Holme, the World's Most Expensive Mansion Worth Rp4.5 Trillion at 200 Years Old

Dream - Mansions are known for their super spacious size and various luxury facilities. The most expensive mansion in the world is currently located in London, England.

The mansion is called The Holme, which is 200 years old, with a selling price of US$300 million or around Rp4.525 trillion.

The Holme was built by property developer Georgia James Burton in 1818, as the Burton family's residence. It was later used by Bedford College for several decades.

The Holme became a private residence in the 1980s and has been marketed several times since then.

The Holme is known as the "White House of Regent's Park" due to its large area and facade style similar to the residence of the president in Washington DC.

The Holme has 40 bedrooms, eight garages, a tennis court, sauna, library, and a large dining room, as part of its 29,000 square feet living space.

This iconic mansion was previously owned by a member of the Saudi royal family, but it was recently taken over after a loan of around US$180 million ended.

According to Robb Report, The Holme is the most expensive house currently listed for sale anywhere in the world.

The previous holder of the 'most expensive house' title was a three-story penthouse in the Central Park Tower in New York City, which was priced at US$250 million in September last year.
