Touching Story of a Beautiful Chinese Descent Pharmacist Becoming a Convert

Dream-  The touching story of a woman of Chinese descent deciding to become a convert has moved netizens.

Although she initially felt uncertain, a woman named Stephanie Aquivera Seanto eventually mustered the courage to recite the two sentences of the shahada.

Stephanie admitted that her desire to become a convert had been there for a long time, but her courage was still small at that time.

The woman, who is familiarly called Vera, shared the background of her life. She comes from NTT and continued her education at a university in Surabaya.

As reported from the Youtube channel Mualaf Center Aya Sofya, Vera admitted that her desire to embrace Islam is inseparable from the environment where she lives, which is predominantly Muslim.

“My house is close to a mosque, I often see Friday prayers. Many people pass by in front of my house. On my mother's side, there are also Muslims,” she said.

Since birth, she has been a Catholic Christian. The religion was passed down from her father who also practiced Christianity.

She herself began to learn about Islam from her mother's side of the family as well as her college friends and coworkers who are mostly Muslims.

Feeling curious about the teachings of Islam, she tried to find out for herself. For her, it was not easy to decide to convert.

Both of her parents have passed away. Initially, her father's family objected to her decision to leave her previous religion.

However, because of her determination, she continued to convince them of her choice. Over time, they no longer objected.

Vera finally recited the two sentences of the shahada guided by an ustadz in a mosque. The atmosphere enveloped the congregation who witnessed the moment.

These sentences became the binding for her to perform other pillars of Islam. She was then given guidance on all the obligations that must be fulfilled, including the five daily prayers.

“After reciting the two sentences of the shahada, you are officially a Muslim. Therefore, it is obligatory to fulfill all the commands, including the five daily prayers,” said the Ustadz who guided her.
