Viral! Grandmother's Marriage with a Young Man 35 Years Apart, Starting from Acquaintance on TikTok

Dream - Many did not expect that a couple with such a significant age difference could live happily as husband and wife.

Why is that? The age difference between them is significant, with the husband being 28 years old and the wife being 62 years old.

Despite the 35-year age gap, this Malaysian couple is not ashamed to share their story and their video on TikTok has gone viral.

A young man named Mohammad Amin Jumdail recounted that he first met his wife through TikTok in October 2021.

Familiarly known as Adam, he admitted that he initially only wanted to get to know a woman named Rokiah Samat from Pasir Puteh, Kelantan.

"It started with just wanting to be friends, but over time, feelings of love and longing arose within me. It is difficult for me to describe that feeling.

"She (Rokiah) is not a famous entrepreneur, she is just an ordinary person. I believe this is Allah's decree that made her my soulmate," said Adam.

Looking back on that introductory moment, the native of Semporna, Sabah, began by coming to the peninsula (Malaysia) to meet Rokiah for the first time.

"I arrived on the peninsula in December 2021, but I needed to find capital first by working as a masseur in Johor.

"A month later, on my birthday, January 10, 2022, I went to Kelantan to meet her," Adam recalled.

During their previous introduction process, this couple admitted that they relied only on chatting or video calling features because they lived far apart. Adam was in Sabah, Kalimantan, while Rokiah was in Kelantan, Peninsula Malaysia.

According to the eighth child out of 10 siblings, he is grateful that his family and his wife's family approved of their relationship regardless of the age difference.

Meanwhile, Adam's wife, Rokiah Samat, said she already has 11 children, 22 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

"My eldest child is 45 years old and the youngest is 18 years old. I am 62 years old, but I feel like I am 40 years old. Alhamdulillah, I am still healthy," Rokiah said.

Rokiah then expressed her reasons for accepting Adam as her husband despite the 35-year age difference.

"Why did I accept him? Because he is good, very responsible, and so attentive to me. Most importantly, he is patient," said Rokiah.

Rokiah had previously been married twice, first to a local resident and second to a foreigner.

Her first marriage was in 1977 and lasted for 40 years before the couple separated six years ago.

Their second marriage was with a Myanmar citizen in 2018, which lasted only two years.

Meanwhile, her marriage with Adam took place on September 9, 2022, after the wedding ceremony held on June 6 of the same year.
