Dream - The number of marriages in Indonesia apparently tends to decrease every year. This has prompted the Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), Dr. Hasto Wardoyo, to seek a solution by advocating that every family have at least one daughter.
The following advice was delivered when he was at Semarang State University some time ago. According to BKKBN data, the number of marriages in a year used to reach more than 2 million. Currently, although the number of marriageable age is still quite large, it is only around 1.5 to 1.7 million.
"I hope the younger sisters will have an average of one daughter each. If there are 1000 women in the village, there should be 1000 baby girls born. This is necessary so that a village does not have zero growth or even negative growth, eventually leading to its population depletion," said Doctor Hasto, some time ago.
He also revealed data in Central Java itself, the Total Birth Rate is 2.04. "Nationally, I have a responsibility to ensure balanced population growth," he said, quoted from Liputan6.com.

The Hasto's appeal has received various responses from netizens. Many disagree with the rule. One of them is the owner of the Tiktok account @95_laras, who even made a video responding to the discourse of having only one daughter in a family.
"I swear, I just can't stop thinking, why only girls, is it because girls have wombs and are expected to give birth to the next generation, like that," expressed the owner of the TikTok account @95_laras. According to her, currently, the younger generation in Indonesia tends to be lazy to get married due to various factors."
"Such as mental and economic conditions. The discourse seems like not the right solution. The criticism immediately received numerous comments. 'Being a girl in Indonesia is really that difficult,' commented @Nadya Urmila."
"What if the government is unable or unwilling to provide for the future living expenses, education, and healthcare of our children due to economic factors?" wrote @yutami. "The problem is the economy.. why did the government choose such a solution\ud83d\ude05," responded @Guru Malas Gerak."
