Dream - Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin is known for his professionalism. Especially when facing many problems during the Covid-19 pandemic.
As a public official, Menkes Budi Sadikin has a very competent career background. He was once a banker in many prestigious banks, then served as the President Director of PT Bank Mandiri, as well as the Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises.
Of course, this makes Budi have many facilities. Providing cars for his children is certainly not difficult, because his position is already very high and he earns a large salary.
It turns out that Budi Sadikin chose not to do it. He did not provide facilities in the form of a private car for his children. This was revealed by the Minister of Health during a conversation on Merry Riana's Youtube channel.
"My child is in Bandung, I don't give them a car, so they go everywhere using public transportation, both male and female. Meanwhile, other directors of state-owned enterprises have provided cars for their children, picking them up when they return home. But when my child goes home, they use travel or train," said Budi, telling about his beloved child who is studying in Bandung."
He implemented it together with his wife, Ida Rachmawati. The reason is because he wants to educate his child not to be money-oriented in life.
"So, indeed, since early on, he was educated that life is not everything about money, lah. How can we utilize that money for other more important things so that they don't always chase after material things, that's how our life has been," said Budi.
"He also mentioned that during vacations, he often takes economy class transportation. This is not because he cannot afford it, but to prioritize and not waste money."
"We also choose to travel on economy class for vacations, not because we can't afford it, but I'd say why bother, it's better to use the money for shopping, enjoying good food, or donating to orphanages or anything more beneficial than buying expensive things," he said.
"Who would have thought that the Minister of Health and former prominent bank official would lead a simple life for their children. Salute! "
