"Dream - Ever heard of the term burnout? Quoted from Kemkes.go.id, burnout syndrome describes a condition when someone feels stressed and experiences extreme emotional and physical exhaustion."
"Burnout syndrome describes feelings of failure and lethargy due to excessive demands on an individual, leading to stress levels reaching a peak."
"Not only does it happen to those who work, but also to housewives who take care of children and the home every day. According to Irma Gustiana, a family psychologist, burnout in mothers is usually marked by extreme physical and mental exhaustion, followed by a feeling of being unable to cope with daily demands."
"The emergence of feelings of despair in terms of parenting especially and the loss of interest in activities that were previously done and enjoyable. Other signs include changes in mood, disturbances in sleep, and also increased irritability, which may lead to being more easily offended," said Irma in a video she uploaded on Instagram @ayankirma.
The condition of burnout in mothers can also be marked by changes in eating habits. It may result in a decreased appetite or, conversely, eating excessively as a compensation for feelings of insecurity.
Is this condition being experienced by Dream Friends? If so, it shouldn't be ignored. Immediately seek solutions to alleviate it. Irma revealed that there are several steps that can be taken. The first is to set aside time to take care of yourself.
"It is important to maintain a balance between what is being done and also time for oneself. Delegating tasks can also be done. It is essential to prioritize physical health. A mother must get enough sleep and also have enough nutrition as well as drink plenty of water," said Irma."
"When this has been done but the levels of stress and burnout do not subside and worsen, do not hesitate to seek help. You can consult a psychologist or psychiatrist."
"Immediately seek help from a doctor or from a mental health professional, whether it is a psychologist or psychiatrist, to provide further assistance so that the mother's burnout can be addressed and she can perform her daily functions or roles adequately," said Irma."
