Happy to Lose Weight at the Age of 40, Mona Ratuliu: A Great Achievement

Dream - Mona Ratuliu is very happy because she can lose weight at the age of 40. Now her weight is approaching the ideal. 

On Instagram, she showcased her body transformation before and after successfully losing weight.

The woman, whose full name is Margaretha Veronica Ratuliu, considers the success of losing weight as an achievement.

"It's a great achievement at the age of 40, I can still lose weight and reach the ideal weight," said Mona Ratuliu quoted by Dream, Wednesday, November 2, 2022.

"I used to be afraid of having children above the age of 30 because I was afraid I couldn't lose weight anymore. But I ended up having another baby at the age of 4, hahahaa! Plans are just plans," she added.

Since successfully losing weight, Mona admitted that she has gained tremendous benefits.

In addition to having a slimmer and healthier body, Mona Ratuliu is also stronger in walking, especially when climbing stairs while carrying her child.

"Now I can climb the stairs by myself without being pushed by @indrabrasco, I can act on screen, which makes my body look wider every day. The most important thing is that I can carry my child without feeling like my knees are going to fall off," she said.

This mother of four children expressed her gratitude to the doctor who helped her with the diet program. However, Mona still has a target to lose three more kilograms of weight.

Dream - Mona Ratuliu experienced deep sorrow last year when her sister-in-law, Eneng Ulan, died two days after giving birth due to being exposed to Covid-19.

Mona Ratuliu was moved to take care of her nephew who did not receive breast milk from the beginning.

The artist, born on January 31, 1982, had just given birth to her fourth child in May 2020, so she was able to provide breast milk for her nephew, Balint Ratuliu.

"I asked my sister if it's okay for us to take care of her child first so that he can be breastfed. It turns out we were allowed to live with him, and he is still with us until now," said Mona Ratuliu at the launch of #MadeforEveryFamily Prudential Indonesia, in South Jakarta, Thursday, June 16, 2022.

Mona admitted that taking care of a baby is not easy, especially since she already had a one-year-old child. However, because her husband, Indra Brasco, loves children, she was allowed to take care of her nephew as if he were her own child.

"We don't know how long Balint will stay with us, maybe he can stay with us forever, so I will have not four, but five children," said Mona Ratuliu.

According to Mona, the tragedy deeply affected her brother, Fernando Fransiscus Ratuliu. Even after a year since his wife passed away, Kesha Ratuliu's father is still crying.

"A strong man who couldn't be productive during the mourning period," she said.

Through this experience, Mona Ratuliu realized that the role of family is very important, especially during such tragedies.

"For me, the relationship with the extended family must be fought for. We can't just rely on babysitters or house assistants. I hope the extended family will also take care," she said.

The 19-year-old beautiful girl revealed that she felt different when she was in junior high school. Through her Instagram account @mimashafa, she shared that her condition fluctuated for 7 years.

From the video she shared, she showed that she had been hospitalized. This was due to severe depression that led her to have thoughts of suicide.

"July 2022 is an important time for me in my 19 years of life. I survived. I wouldn't be able to know myself better if I hadn't survived," wrote Mima on her Instagram account.

Support from Family

Mona and Indra's support for their daughter is immense. They fought together to accompany Mima through her lowest point. Mima's friends and relatives also provided a lot of support for her.

"At the right time, I will tell you. Before this month ends, I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported and loved me. Mom and dad, friends, especially myself," Mima expressed.

Mima shared some moments when depression struck, including when she received treatment in the hospital. She advised teenagers who are also experiencing depression like her not to be afraid to seek help.

"Don't be afraid to talk and seek help. You always matter," Mima said.
