Sad Cries of Comedian Nunung Who Wants to Retire but Cannot Do It: Tired!

Dream - At the age of almost 60, Nunung is still one of the active artists in the entertainment world. However, like women her age, the artist, whose real name is Tri Retno Prayudati, also wants to take a rest from her work at this advanced age. 

Nunung admits that she has a strong desire to retire from her career in the entertainment industry. Besides her age, Nunung also admits that she often feels tired every time she performs her profession. 

"Sometimes there is a feeling of weariness, boredom, it has started to emerge, I feel tired," said Nunung in the FYP Trans 7 program.

However, the comedian, who was born from the Srimulat comedy group, realizes that she must keep that desire to herself. Nunung cannot simply stop working because many family members depend on her for their livelihood.

"I still have responsibilities, I still have children in school, in college," she said.

As a good mother and grandmother, Nunung will continue to be responsible for supporting her children and grandchildren.

"Bagus (her child) hasn't established his life yet. Having three children still depends on their mother, now I'm thinking," said Nunung while crying.

"My children still need me, especially now my grandchildren know how to ask for things," she added.

On the other hand, this senior comedian admitted that she ran out of money when she was arrested in a drug case some time ago. During the nine months of rehabilitation, Nunung did not receive any income at all. 

"Even though I have to support nearly 50 family members, my savings are depleted, not to mention paying for my own rehab. It's all gone, it's gone," she said.

If one day she can retire from the entertainment industry, the wife of Iyan Sambiran wants to have a restaurant.

"(I want to take a break) When I already have capital, I want to have a restaurant," she said.

Nunung Srimulat is a familiar figure in the Indonesian entertainment industry. The woman who has been working for 36 years since her debut in 1986 said she is not yet ready to retire from the entertainment stage for the sake of her grandchildren.

Tri Retno Prayudati, her full name, has small grandchildren. Nunung revealed this on YouTube's Cumicumi.

"I have many grandchildren, and they ask me to buy toys, they ask me to buy clothes, they ask for this and that. Oh, I have to work again," she said.

The star of the TV series "Si Doel Anak Sekolahan" added that her grandchildren mean a lot to her. So she always tries to fulfill their wishes while she can.

"Now I work again to make them happy, if they ask, let's go," she said.

Nunung does not limit when she will retire from the entertainment industry. For her, the most important thing is to continue entertaining the public. She also hopes to be given good health.

"As long as I am healthy, as long as I can think positively, as long as I am still accepted in this art world and those who work with me feel happy, there is no problem, let's go. Because artists don't really have a retirement age, it depends on ourselves," she explained.

However, at the age of almost 60, which is 58 years old, Nunung limits herself to only taking one television program. Because she feels tired when she has too many jobs.

"Retiring completely is not possible. But we only take guest star roles. Alhamdulillah, I am still trusted by TV, there are still regular shows, I am still needed as a guest star everywhere, alhamdulillah," she added.

Amidst the conflict between Sule and Nathalie Holscher, old videos of the comedian have surfaced. One of them is when Nunung was asked about Rizky Febian's father on the YouTube channel Taulany TV.

Although the video was taken 3 years ago, Nunung's statement about Sule has attracted attention and has gone viral on social media again.

In the video, Andre Taulany asked Nunung to choose between him and Sule as a partner in comedy.

"The next choice, the best, Andre or Sule?" Andre Taulany asked.

"Andre," Nunung replied.

Nunung prefers Andre over Sule because she feels more comfortable when performing comedy with him.

"I feel more relaxed when performing with Andre," Nunung said.

Unlike Andre Taulany, Nunung is still afraid of saying the wrong things when performing comedy with Sule.

"If I perform with Sule, honestly, I still have a fear of making mistakes. I feel afraid of performing comedy with them, afraid that the timing might not be right, but with you, I feel comfortable," Nunung explained.

Nevertheless, Nunung admitted that she has learned a lot from Sule. "Sule is the best, I have learned a lot from him, without me realizing it," Nunung said.
