Sharing emotions through songs live, Yura Yunita presented a solo concert titled Pertunjukan Tutur Batin (Inner Voice Performance) on Friday, June 16 at Tennis Indoor Senayan, Jakarta.

Yura sang a series of songs from the Tutur Batin album. An unforgettable moment at this concert was when Yura's tears sang the song Sudut Memori (Corner of Memory).

"This song is so painful for both of us (Yura and her husband), and the recording can also be done once because at the same time I was also left by my living hero (my dad) forever," Yura said before singing the song Sudut Memori.

Singing Love and Secret Song

Yura also sang the song Cinta dan Rahasia (Love and Secret) which is her collaboration with the late Glenn Fredly.

"If it weren't for Kak Glenn Fredly, Yura's name wouldn't be anyone," then Yura sang the song Cinta dan Rahasia with Glenn Fredly's recorded voice and the signature hat that he often wore.

Yura's tears broke again when she sang the song Cinta dan Rahasia.

Yura Yunita's Confession About the 'Ideal' Armpit Persona That Limits Women from Feeling Confident

Dream - The expectation of smooth, bright, and poreless armpits is still the ideal view of armpits in society.

The "The Underarm Confidence Survey" conducted by Dove in 7 countries, including Indonesia, found several facts that 7 out of 10 women feel pressure from society to have smooth and bright armpits.

Then, 9 out of 10 women feel that society, especially on social media, exaggerates the "ideal" version of women's armpits, which ultimately affects women's perception of the perfect armpit condition, which is hairless, odorless, and smooth.

As a result, 9 out of 10 women say they have felt uncomfortable with their armpits. Even 7 out of 10 women admit that this discomfort limits them from comfortably and confidently engaging in activities.

Yura Yunita Also Experienced It

Apparently, this is not only experienced by women in general, but also by Yura Yunita, a famous Indonesian singer.

Feelings of lack of confidence, restlessness, discomfort, disappointment, and rejection due to being considered not beautiful have been emotional wounds for her. But in the end, Yura realized that chasing perfection would never end.

"What matters is not how perfect we are, but how well we know and accept ourselves, and proudly celebrate all the strengths and weaknesses we have," Yura explained at the Media Gathering event, Intimate Conversation with Dove and Yura Yunita About Women and the "Perfection" of Their Armpits on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

Receiving Negative Comments

Unfortunately, there are still many people who do not agree that we don't need to be perfect.

"Recently, one of the videos I uploaded on social media received many negative comments about my armpits. It's a mix of amusement and annoyance," Yura added.

But because Yura is always open to accepting and acknowledging all her imperfections, this experience becomes an opportunity to invite people to oppose the false beauty standards and feel more comfortable with themselves.

Encouraging Women to Feel Confident

In line with this, Yura, together with Dove Deodorant, is promoting a positive message about women's self-confidence and their armpits through the #KetiakmuBerarti campaign.

"This campaign aims to invite Indonesian women to realize and celebrate the importance and role of well-groomed armpits in special moments in their lives," explained Mahnessa Siregar, Head of Deodorant and Baby Care at Unilever Indonesia at the same event.
