"Dream - The prayer of Prophet David to soften someone's heart can be recited when dealing with someone who is angry and stubborn. If communication efforts have failed to soften their heart, involving Allah SWT through prayer is the best solution."
Why Prophet David's prayer? The chosen human who received this Torah book is a figure of Allah's famous messenger known for his extraordinary patience. Prophet David is included in the 25 prophets that must be followed by Muslims. The story of Prophet David's life serves as inspiration and an example for Muslims. He is the 12th child of Prophet Ibrahim 'alaihi salam born from the womb of Siti Sarah, the wife of Prophet Ibrahim. Allah has bestowed special privileges upon Prophet David. He passed away at the age of 100.
One of the prayers frequently recited by Prophet David (as) is a prayer to soften the heart. The recitation of this prayer is often used as a guidance by Muslims. How to recite the prayer of Prophet David (as) to soften the heart? Here is the complete explanation.
"O Allah, indeed You are the Mighty, the Great, and I am Your weak servant, the humiliated. There is no power or strength except by You. O Allah, make (mention the name of the person) submissive to me as You made Pharaoh submissive to Moses. And soften his heart as You softened the iron for David. For he does not speak except with Your permission. His breath is in Your grasp, and his heart is in Your hand. Exalted are Your praises, and Your face is majestic, O Most Merciful of the merciful."
"O Allah, indeed You are the Almighty and the Most Great. And indeed I am Your humble and weak servant. O Allah, make my affairs easy for me, just as You made the affairs of Pharaoh easy for Moses, and soften the hearts of people towards me, just as You softened iron for Prophet David. You are the best of leaders and the best of helpers, O Lord, the Ever-Living, O Lord, the Supreme Ruler, O Lord, the One with Majesty and Glory, grant me Your favor, O Allah."
Apart from the above prayer, there is still another prayer from Prophet David to soften the heart of someone who is stubborn. This prayer of Prophet David is very easy to memorize because it is short. Although it is short, the power of this prayer is not inferior to the previous prayer. Here is the prayer: "Allahumma layyinli qalbahu, layyinta li dawudal hadid" Meaning: "O Allah, soften his heart as You softened the iron for David."
This prayer is enshrined by Allah in the Quran, Surah Saba, verse 10. This prayer was recited by Prophet David when he wanted to soften iron. It means: "And indeed, We bestowed upon David from Us a favor, [saying], 'O mountains, repeat [Our] praises with him, and the birds [as well].' And We made pliable for him iron."
Besides Prophet David, you can also quote the prayer of Prophet Moses to soften someone's heart, namely Pharaoh. At that time, Prophet Moses was sent as a messenger during the time of Pharaoh. This prayer to soften the heart by Prophet Moses is mentioned in Surah Taha verses 25-28.
Translated: "Meaning: 'O Allah, expand my chest for me and make my task easy for me and remove the knot from my tongue so that they may understand my speech.'"
Meaning: "(Remember) when Yusuf said to his father, 'O my father, indeed I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon; I saw them prostrating to me.'"
Apart from Prophet David and Prophet Joseph, the prayer that softens the heart can also be taken from the prayer of Prophet Solomon. In the letter of An-Naml, Prophet Solomon is mentioned as sending a letter to Queen Bilqis to believe in Allah and submit to Him. These verses, An-Naml 30 to 31, are believed to be able to become a prayer that softens someone's heart, just as Prophet Solomon was able to soften the heart of Queen Bilqis.
Translation: "Meaning: 'Indeed, this letter is from someone named Sulaiman, and indeed (its content) begins with the name of Allah, the Most Merciful and Most Compassionate. Do not be arrogant towards me, but come to me as one who surrenders.'"
