The view of the Sun's atmosphere was captured by ESA's Solar Orbiter spacecraft on September 23, 2023.

Using the Extreme Ultraviolet Imager (EUI) instrument, the Solar Orbiter spacecraft recorded the activity of the Sun's uppermost atmospheric layer, commonly known as the corona.

The first sight is 'coronal moss' or bright glowing gas that forms lace-like patterns in the atmosphere of the Sun.

If that astronomical unit is converted into kilometers, then 0.33 AU is equal to 49,370,000 km. The distance is already considered very close, but Solar Orbiter will continue to approach the Sun.

This space vehicle will reach its closest distance to the Sun at about 43 million km or 0.287 AU on October 7th. Imagine! Only at a distance of 49 million km, the videos taken by the Solar Orbiter are already amazing, let alone at a closer distance of 43 million km.
