Dream - The tourist bus carrying a group of students from SMK Lingga Kencana Depok had an accident in Ciater District, Subang Regency, West Java. The number of fatalities in the incident reached 11 people.
Kasi Humas Polres Subang AKP Yusman delivered the information that the tourist bus accident with license plate AD 7524 OG occurred on the highway in Palasari Village, Ciater District on Saturday night, May 11, 2024.
The bus is passing through Ciater Road because it is heading home to the Depok area after visiting one of the tourist attractions in Bandung.
The accident happened around 18.45 WIB, starting when the bus carrying the group of students was passing from Bandung towards Subang.
According to Liputan6.com, when passing through a downhill road, the bus suddenly swerved to the right until it crossed the opposite lane and collided with a minibus type Feroza with license plate number D 1455 VCD. After colliding with the vehicle in the opposite lane, the bus flipped over with a tilted position, the left tire was on top, and then slipped and hit three parked motorcycles on the roadside.
"In a moment of slipping on a declining road, the bus stopped after hitting an electric pole on the roadside, while the condition of the victims was reported scattered on the road. Yusman said that the fatal accident involving a convoy of SMK Lingga Kencana Depok bus involved five vehicles, namely one bus, one Feroza car, and three motorcycles."
All the victims who died are now in Ciereng Subang Regional General Hospital (RSUD), while the injured victims are taken to health centers and clinics.
Head of Subang Health Department, Dr. Maxi, stated that out of the 11 accident victims, 10 of them were a group of students and a teacher from Lingga Kencana Vocational High School in Depok, who were traveling on a bus.
While another victim who died was a motorcyclist registered as a resident of Cibogo, Subang.
