Dream - Currently, Muslims have entered the month of Dzulqa'dah, which is one of the four sacred months glorified by Allah SWT. Because this month is very noble, Muslims are encouraged to do many good deeds that can bring abundant rewards. In addition, this month is also very special because there are several important events that occur in the month of Dzulqa'dah. One of them is being the month in which the Prophet Muhammad saw often performs the Umrah pilgrimage.
Well, here are some of the special features of the month of Dzulqa'dah as summarized by Dream through various sources.
There are several special features of the month of Dzulqa'dah with important events within it. What are they?
The month of Dzulqa'dah is a month that is honored by Allah SWT. Therefore, if you perform good deeds in this month, the rewards that you, my friend Dream, will receive will be multiplied by Allah SWT. On the other hand, if you engage in bad deeds, then your sins will also be multiplied by Allah SWT. Since ancient times, the Muslim community has greatly respected the month of Dzulqa'dah, where people are prohibited from engaging in warfare.
This decree applies to the sharia of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail, and it continues to the sharia brought by Prophet Muhammad.
In the month of Dzulqa'dah, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) often performed the umrah pilgrimage. In fact, he performed it four times as explained in a hadith: "The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) performed the umrah pilgrimage four times, all of them in the month of Dzulqa'dah, except for the umrah that accompanied his hajj pilgrimage. (That is) the umrah from Hudaibiyah or in the year of the Hudaibiyah treaty in the month of Dzulqa'dah, the umrah in the following year in the month of Dzulqa'dah, the umrah from Ji'ranah, where he distributed the spoils of Hunain in the month of Dzulqaidah, and the umrah when he performed the hajj pilgrimage." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari 1780 and Muslim 1253)
"(that is) Umrah from Hudaibiyah or in the year of the Hudaibiyah agreement in the month of Dzulqa'dah, Umrah in the following year in the month of Dzulqa'dah, Umrah from Ji'ranah, where he distributed the spoils of Hunain in the month of Dzulqaidah, and Umrah when he performed Hajj." (Narrated by Al-Bukhari 1780 and Muslim 1253)
The month of Dzulqa'dah is the month in which Prophet Musa (as) supplicated before receiving the Taurat. Allah SWT promised Prophet Musa (as) to supplicate after the passing of 30 nights. To complete his worship time, Allah SWT added 10 nights in the month of Dzulhijjah. Thus, the time determined by Allah SWT became perfect for 40 nights.
The following is explained in His word through the Al-A'raf verse 142: "And We have promised Moses to give him the Torah after thirty nights (in the month of Dzulqa'dah), and We completed the number of nights with ten more nights (the first ten nights of the month of Dzulhijjah), so the time appointed by his Lord became forty nights. And Moses said to his brother, Aaron, 'Take my place in leading my people, and improve yourself and your people, and do not follow the path of those who cause corruption.'"
The Hudaibiyah Agreement occurred in the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah. In the book of Sirah, Sheikh Ali as-Shalabi explains that as the strength of the Muslim community grew, they began to think about obtaining their long-desired rights. Namely, the right to worship in Masjid al-Haram, which had been blocked by the polytheists for six years. On Monday in the seventh year (some say the sixth year) of the Hijri calendar, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) set out with 1400 companions without carrying any weapons.
Upon arriving at Dzulhulaifah, the Prophet Muhammad performed the ihram for umrah. Meanwhile, the disbelievers thought that his arrival was to attack them. Eventually, one of their representatives went to meet him to find out the true purpose. Upon reaching the resting place, the Prophet Muhammad stated that his arrival was only for umrah, not for war. Because of the Prophet Muhammad's intention, he and the disbelievers made a peace agreement called suluh hudaibiyah. This was a peace treaty between the Muslim community and the Quraysh disbelievers in the seventh year of hijri.
