Quranic Verses Contain Commands to Do Good

"In the Al-Quran there are many verses that command Muslims to do good. Here are some of the verses that sahabat Dream need to know:"

Chapter Al-Baqarah Verse 195

And spend (in charity) in the way of Allah and do not throw (yourselves) with your own hands into destruction (by refraining). And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.

Chapter Al-Baqarah Verse 261

"Translation: "The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a grain of seed that grows seven spikes, each spike containing a hundred grains. Allah multiplies for whom He wills. And Allah is all-encompassing and knowing."

"Surat Al-A'Raf Ayat 56" in English is "Chapter Al-A'raf Verse 56".

"وَلاَ تُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ بَعْدَ إِصْلاَحِهَا وَادْعُوهُ خَوْفًا وَطَمَعًا إِنَّ رَحْمَةَ اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِّنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ" Translation: "And do not cause corruption on the earth after its reformation. And invoke Him in fear and aspiration. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good."

Verse 7 of Surah Al-Isra

If you do good, you do good for yourself. And if you do evil, then the consequences of that evil are for yourself. When the time of the second punishment comes, (We raise your enemies) to disgrace your face and they enter the mosque (Masjidil Aqsa), just as they entered it the first time and they destroyed whatever they had control over.

Virtue that Must be Expedited

There are several virtues that must be done immediately as explained in the book Takhrij Ahadith Ihya' Ulumuddin volume 2 page 928 quoting from Hatim al-Asham by the scholar Murtadha Az-Zabiidi.

1. Preparing Meals for Guests

The first virtue is to prepare a meal for guests. This is an act taught by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). It shows the true nature of a believer, that is, those who can make their fellow believers feel safe from their words and hands. Even in a hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, it is explained: "Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, let him honor his guest."

3. Marrying a Young Girl

The next welfare that must be expedited is marrying off young girls. This is an effort to maintain the honor of forbidden acts and various kinds of evil. Even the Prophet Muhammad said, "If a man comes to you whose religion and character you are pleased with, then marry him. If not, there will be turmoil on earth and great corruption." (Narrated by At-Tirmidhi, no. 1084)

4. Paying Off Debts

The next virtue is to pay off debts. We should not delay this action. The wisdom behind it is to distance oneself from oppression. The Prophet Muhammad has reminded us, "Delaying the payment of debts for those who are capable of paying is an act of oppression." (HR Bukhari no 220)

5. Repent Immediately

Repentance is something that should be hastened and not postponed. Considering that as humans, there are certainly sins, both intentional and unintentional. So, always repent to Allah SWT to seek His forgiveness. In the hadith, it has been explained that Allah SWT is happier to accept repentance from His servants.
