"Until Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 21.00 WIB, a total of 37 people have been recorded dead due to this disaster," wrote BNPB in its statement, quoted on Monday, May 13, 2024. Out of the total casualties, 19 people are residents of Agam Regency, 9 people from Tanah Datar, 9 people from Padang Panjang Regency, and 7 people from Padang Pariaman. Meanwhile, the identification process is still ongoing for the other 2 bodies."

Cold lava and rock material then flowed down from the slopes of Mount Marapi to the surrounding residential areas around 21:30 WIB. As a result, several villages and infrastructure were affected by the flow of cold lava. This cold lava flood was followed by large rocks from Mount Marapi.

Observation Post Gunung Marapi recorded an increase in rainfall vibrations at Batu Palano Station since Sunday, May 12, 2024 at 20.35 WIB. BNPB urges residents living around the riverbanks that originate from Gunung Marapi to always be alert to the potential risks of subsequent dangers. Residents are expected to evacuate independently to a safer place.
