Dream - Sri Ratu Medan Hospital has terminated Bidan Melvi, after going viral for allegedly providing unfriendly service to a patient brought by TikToker @alehalehkhasmedann. The termination of employment was announced through a letter uploaded by the hospital's Instagram management.

"In connection with the incident involving Sister Melvi, where there were serious complaints about unpleasant communication towards a patient named Rames, which then went viral on social media, we have conducted a thorough investigation and found that the action is not in accordance with the expected standards of ethics and professionalism from every employee at Sri Ratu Medan Hospital."

In the dismissal letter, there are at least three reasons that caused Nurse Melvi to be terminated from her job. Among them are violations of communication ethics, violations of service standards, and having a negative impact on the hospital's image. "Based on the reasons above, we have decided to end the employment relationship with Ms. Melvi, effective from the date of the letter's issuance," he wrote.

In another post, it was mentioned that the viral incident occurred on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at around 17.30 WIB. Initially, five people came to Sri Ratu Medan Hospital intentionally recording the situation, bringing a patient named Rames who is known to often sleep in front of the hospital.

Regarding the sentence "siapa yang bayar?" which is considered offensive, Melvi explained that the question refers to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for hospital registration, which is to ascertain who is responsible for the patient.

Melvi expresses his regret for the commotion that occurred in the video uploaded on the RSU Sri Ratu Instagram account on May 15, 2024. He emphasizes that he is always committed to providing healthcare services without discrimination.

Midwife Melvi has also conveyed her apology in a clarification video. She explained that her intention in asking who would pay is to find out who is responsible for the patient.
