A recent post on social media showed how far a father can go to keep his children happy and safe. The account owner shared that a father he knows is willing to pay a matchmaker agency Rs 3 lakh or around Rp58 million as a reward for a proposal from a family with an annual income of over Rs 200 crore or around Rp389 billion.
However, users did not provide any additional information about the family or the name of the agency.
However, he said that the father still paid a high price to obtain his daughter's proposal from a very wealthy family. The tweet caught the attention of netizens and sparked debate about how many people are willing to spend money on weddings.
A netizen said that such a large amount of money is very normal for a matchmaker agent. This cost is a filter to obtain the crème de la crème. Matchmaking fees usually range from 1-2 percent of the total wedding cost. "This is a common thing. This cost serves as a filter to find the best partner. Typically, matchmaking agency fees are around 1-2% of the total wedding cost. For example, for a wedding worth Rs 1 Crore or around Rp 10 million, the agency fee is around Rs 1-2 lakh or around Rp 20-Rp 38 million," said one match seeker, as quoted from India Times.
