Their family relationship became closer when Prabowo attended the inauguration of a hotel owned by Hotman Paris's brother in the Toba area, North Sumatra (Sumut). "When my brother, Lawyer Duma, inaugurated Hotel Serenauli in the district where Hotman was born, Laguboti, Toba, Sumut, Prabowo came to inaugurate the hotel in Batak land, flying in via Silangit Airport," he wrote.

According to Hotman, Prabowo is a loyal friend who always maintains friendships despite differences in ethnicity and religion. "Prabowo remembers friendships even though they are of different ethnicities and religions! Prabowo came all the way to Batak land," he added.

"I once got scolded by Prabowo when I was his lawyer! But it was a controlled anger!," he said. However, the exact reason why Hotman Paris was scolded by Prabowo is not known. Hotman no longer concerns himself with the matter. In fact, in some of his posts, he often gives support to his friend who is now running as a presidential candidate in the 2024 elections."
