Despite being a popular tourist destination, not many people know that the original name of Bangkok can reach up to 168 letters. This name consists of Pali and Sanskrit words and is recognized as the longest place name in the world by the Guinness World Records.
Not long ago, a viral video showed a tour guide who was able to mention the long name of Bangkok in just one breath. One of the videos was shared by the Instagram account @sheswow on February 14, 2024.
In the viral video that is circulating, a tour guide mentioned, "Krung Thep Mahanakhon Amon Rattanakosin Mahinthara Ayuthaya Mahadilok Phop Noppharat Ratchathani Burirom Udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amon Piman Awatan Sathit Sakkathattiya Witsanukam Prasit," which was then greeted with cheers and laughter from the tourists.
"After that, the female tour guide answered by saying thank you. The short video attracted attention and various comments from netizens, and at the time of writing this news, it has been viewed more than 2.9 million times."
