According to the Indonesian National Defense Information Center (Puspen) of the Indonesian National Army (TNI), when the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) was conducting patrols, the KRI Bontang-907 received information from the Guskamla Koarmada I about a suspected ship contact that was believed to be used in the practice of human trafficking of Rohingya refugees. Upon receiving the information, the Panther helicopter onboard the KRI Bontang-907 quickly moved to conduct aerial surveillance. True enough, at the suspected location, a wooden ship named SHWE YA DANAR 3 was identified.

In a separate occasion, the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy (Kasal) Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali emphasized that all ranks of the Indonesian Navy soldiers must always improve their operational readiness and respond quickly to received information. In addition, they must also collaborate and synergize with relevant agencies, especially in maintaining the security of Indonesian waters.
