The word 'Rebo' in Javanese means 'Wednesday', while 'wekasan' can be interpreted as 'last' or 'end'. So, literally, Rebo Wekasan can be interpreted as 'Last Wednesday' or 'End of Wednesday'.

On the night of Rebo Wekasan, Javanese people often perform various rituals or religious activities. Some of them are visiting graves, performing ruwatan ceremonies, reciting special prayers, or reciting tahlil to honor ancestors or for other spiritual purposes.
