AS and other Western allies urged Israel not to retaliate in order to avoid regional conflict that arose from the Israel-Hamas war. Concerns escalated when an airstrike, reportedly carried out by Israel according to Iran, killed two Iranian military commanders at their country's consulate in Damascus, Syria, on April 1st.

"Previously, on Sunday, March 14, 2024, in the early morning, Iran launched a retaliatory attack on Israel by sending dozens of explosive drones and ballistic missiles. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife, Sara, were reported to have taken refuge amid the escalating regional tensions in the Middle East."

Quoted from The Jerusalem Post, they stayed at the luxurious villa owned by Simon Falic, an American Jewish businessman who is close to the Netanyahu family. It is reported that the existence of advanced missile defense facilities inside the villa indicates an extra level of preparation and security to be used by Netanyahu when there is an attack on his country.
