Dream - Israel's ground attacks in Gaza Strip are becoming more intense. However, they face a major challenge from Hamas. Using underground tunnels as part of their warfare tactics, Hamas is able to overwhelm Israeli forces.
However, Israel boasts that they also have special tactics to destroy the Hamas tunnels. Israeli media reported that their Army's engineering division conducted a large-scale operation to destroy the Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip.
Using various types of robots and explosives, the Israeli forces claim to have destroyed tunnels and traps installed by Hamas. "We will demolish the entrance and the tunnels within. It will become a death zone." They made a mistake, choosing to be in a place they cannot avoid. They will die in the tunnels," claimed an Israeli military official.
According to the report, the Israel Defence Force (IDF) has destroyed approximately 100 tunnels, not including those affected by air strikes. It is even mentioned that the IDF was involved in close combat with Hamas fighters who emerged from the tunnels and returned there.
Minister of Defense of Israel, Yoav Gallant, admitted to having a 'unique solution' to destroy the extensive Hamas tunnels in the Gaza Strip. "We have a unique solution to reach all the tunnels and dismantle them," said Gallant, addressing the special underground warfare unit, Yahalom.
Gallant added that Hamas forces only have the choice of death inside or outside the tunnel. "Death from our forces' attack or unconditional surrender," he told Yahalom.
"Unfortunately, the Israeli boast seems to be just an empty threat. They are predicted to have difficulty neutralizing all of Hamas' tunnels. The problem is that Hamas fighters have built extensive and intricate underground tunnels with a total length of 400 km."
That was said by the Commander of the Iranian Army, General Mohammad Baqeri, in an interview with Al Arabiya. He warned Israel that Hamas fighters could defeat the Zionist army with a 400 km-long tunnel in the north of Gaza.
"In the northern part of Gaza, Palestinian fighters have built more than 400 kilometers of tunnels. Vehicles and motorcycles can pass through those tunnels," he said. Hamas tunnels have an exit behind the Israeli forces. This shows Hamas' readiness to launch ground attacks on Israel."
The difficulty faced by Israel in searching for Hamas tunnels was further revealed by the Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI). They stated that the entrance to the Hamas underground tunnels is hidden behind houses, mosques, and schools.
"While on the way there, it is estimated that the streets and narrow alleys in that area are filled with traps," explained the statement. "And also improvised explosive devices that are detonated at any time by Hamas through orders."
There were no casualties in the incident. However, the whirlwind made the prayer activities not conducive.
