"Dream - Customer data belonging to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is suspected to have leaked following a ransomware attack on the company's website. This was revealed after the X account @TodayCyberNews shared a screenshot of a webpage informing that KAI had been hacked, Sunday, January 14, 2024."

Responding to this, KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus emphasized that there is currently no evidence of data leakage as narrated. "We will continue to conduct a thorough investigation to trace the issue," said Joni in his statement on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, as reported by liputan6.com.

Joni ensures that until now all IT operational systems, online ticket purchases from KAI, as well as Face Recognition Boarding Gate services at all stations are still running well. Therefore, he assures that all KAI user data is safe. He urges the public not to worry about the security of data on the Face Recognition Boarding Gate feature used by KAI. Because KAI already has good information security management.

"KAI has implemented an internationally standardized Information Security Management System ISO 27001 regarding Information Security Management Standardization," said Joni.
