Through that prayer, it can provide peace of mind and tranquility.
Through that prayer, it can provide peace of mind and tranquility.
"Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) always taught various good prayers to his companions, one of which is a prayer when feeling anxious. This prayer has also been practiced by Muslims until now."
The following is a prayer reading taught by the Prophet Muhammad saw when the mind is not calm, as summarized by Dream through various sources.
In Islam, prayer has a very important role and is considered as one of the fundamental forms of worship.
Praying is a way to communicate directly with Allah SWT and express the needs, hopes, and gratitude of a Muslim. The importance of praying in Islam can be explained through several aspects:
Submission to Allah: Prayer is a sign of submission and acknowledgment that humans are weak creatures and entirely dependent on Allah. Through prayer, a Muslim realizes that only Allah has absolute power over everything. Acknowledging the Power of Allah: Prayer acknowledges Allah's power as the owner of everything. Through prayer, a Muslim realizes that Allah is the true source of life, guidance, and assistance.
Expressing Devotion: Prayer helps a Muslim feel closer to Allah and creates devotion in worship. It creates a personal relationship between the servant and the Creator. Expressing Dependence: Prayer is an expression of complete dependence on Allah. By acknowledging needs and making requests to Him, a Muslim realizes that only Allah can provide what is desired or needed.
Strengthening Piety: Prayer helps strengthen piety and awareness of Allah. When a Muslim prays regularly, they tend to pay more attention to their actions and behavior to align with Islamic teachings. Soothing the Heart and Soul: Prayer can provide tranquility, peace of mind, and spiritual strength. It helps overcome various challenges and stress in daily life.
Opportunity to Seek Forgiveness: Prayer also provides an opportunity to seek forgiveness for sins and mistakes that have been committed. This is a chance to cleanse oneself and improve one's relationship with Allah.
Through the history of Imam at-Thabrani and Abu Umamah, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) recommended reciting the following prayer when the mind is not at peace:
"اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ نَفْسًا بِكَ مُطْمَئِنَّةً، تُؤْمِنُ بِلِقَائِكَ، وَتَرْضَى بِقَضَائِكَ، وَتَقْنَعُ بِعَطَائِكَAllahumma inni as’aluka nafsan bika muthmainnah, tu’minu bi liqo’ika, wa tardho bi qodho’ika, wa taqna’u bi’athoika.Artinya: "Ya Allah, aku memohon kepada-Mu jiwa yang merasa tenang kepada-Mu, yang yakin akan bertemu dengan-Mu, Yang ridha dengan ketetapan-Mu, dan yang merasa cukup dengan pemberian-Mu."" Translation: "O Allah, I ask You for a soul that feels at peace with You, that believes in meeting You, that is content with Your decree, and that is satisfied with Your provision."
"Through prayer when the mind is not calm above, in this case there are three important foundations of inner peace that Dream friends need to know:"
You believe in meeting Him means "A soul that is certain that one day it will meet its Lord). In this case, humans have a clear purpose in their lives. Through this clear purpose, namely Allah SWT. Because the suffering that humans experience in their lives is the worry about the judgment of others on themselves. Until finally forgetting about how Allah SWT views ourselves.
"I am pleased with your decree" means "A soul that is always content with whatever Allah decrees. As a person who is conscious of Allah SWT, they will always be content with everything that Allah SWT gives. This is because they are confident that Allah SWT will always give the best. Umar bin Khattab ra once said:"
"I don't care about my happy or sad circumstances. Because I don't know which of the two makes Allah pleased with me." Then, Ali bin Abi Thalib ra also once said: "When Allah grants my prayer, I am happy, when Allah does not grant my prayer, I am even happier. Because the first one is my choice, and the second one is Allah's choice. And Allah's choice is surely the best for me."
"Contentment with your blessings means 'A soul that always feels satisfied with what Allah has given'. In this context, it explains a soul that always feels sincere or content with everything that Allah SWT provides. Because indeed, the inherent nature of humans is to never feel satisfied. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:"
"Anak Adam itu ketika diberikan satu lembah minta dua lembah. Semuanya akan terus begitu sampai tanah kubur yang masuk ke dalam mulutnya." "Adam's children, when given one valley, ask for two valleys. It will continue like this until the soil of the grave enters their mouths."
Humans need to protect themselves to avoid the disturbances of the cursed Satan wherever they are.
