According to Dimsum Daily Hong Kong, EVA Air confirmed that the Jakarta-Taipei flight with flight number BR238 encountered severe turbulence about two hours after taking off on Sunday afternoon local time. The turbulence reportedly occurred while the plane was flying at an altitude of 37,000 feet or about 11,277 meters."
"Turbulence occurred when the flight attendants served food to the passengers about two hours after the plane took off. As a result, chaos ensued in the cabin with plates, paper cups, and food scattered around, and even splashes of water were seen on the cabin baggage cover."
"No passengers were injured in this incident, but six flight attendants suffered minor injuries. One passenger recounted that they were saved from hitting the cabin ceiling thanks to another passenger who held onto their arm. Several other passengers were reported to be wet due to splashes of spilled drinks during the turbulence."
"A passenger posted images of the chaos inside the cabin via social media Threads, with food and drinks appearing scattered in the airplane aisle. After the incident, the plane finally landed safely at Taoyuan International Airport, Taiwan, on Sunday night, around 9:16 PM local time."
EVA Air said that the injured flight attendants have received medical treatment and are now in recovery at their respective homes.
