Dream - Currently, most people may prefer shopping at modern markets rather than traditional markets. The shops in modern markets are indeed more organized and located inside air-conditioned buildings.
However, that does not mean that traditional markets are completely abandoned by the community. In some areas, the community actually presents markets with traditional concepts. The market is made with an ancient concept, so it can provide a new experience for buyers who come. One of them is Pasar Ledok Tinjon in Sleman, Yogyakarta. In a video uploaded by the TikTok account @rgrtravelandphototrip, it can be seen that the market located in the bamboo forest is very simple. In that market, many elderly traders can be seen.
Uniquely, sellers and buyers there wear traditional clothing. Women wear kebaya with jarik fabric as the bottom. Meanwhile, men have more variety, ranging from plain shirts and cloth or batik pants, as well as sarong.
Many traders in Ledok Tinjon market sell their goods by carrying or carrying baskets and offering them to buyers. There are also traders who stay in one place to sell.
"In the market, there is also a hair salon that parents rely on to tidy up their appearance. Not only selling vegetables and fruits, but there are also those who offer sewing services in this market."
Not only buying and selling activities, but also traditional art performances are often held in Ledok Tinjon market. One of the arts that is frequently showcased in the market is the Gejug Lesung music performance by the mothers in the surrounding area.
"Unfortunately, the Ledok Tinjon market is rarely known by people, so most of its visitors only come from the surrounding area."
The video shared on TikTok by the account @rgtravelandphototrip has been watched by many netizens, making them aware of the existence of Ledok Tinjon market. Not a few netizens have commented and reminisced upon watching the video. "Feels like a time machine, going back to the old days," wrote the account @ahmadusman5611. "The real village atmosphere," wrote the account @ramadhani7197. "Like going back to the lost past, now returning," wrote the account @user69113558541597. "Reminds me of my childhood, often taken to the traditional market, now it's empty," wrote the account @bang.viind. Report: Yulia Putri.
