As known, Aep is one of the witnesses in the murder case of Vina and Eky in Cirebon in 2016.

When that happened, Aep worked at a car wash around the crime scene. He testified that he knew several perpetrators, one of whom was Pegi. Aep also confirmed the photo shown to him by the police. He admitted recognizing the pink-colored Smash motorcycle that Pegi was often seen riding.

The information from Aep is considered to be burdensome for Pegi. However, Pegi denies all of the testimonies. In addition, Pegi Setiawan feels strange because he does not know Aep at all. "I don't know Aep at all," he said.

Pegi Setiawan admitted to being ready to provide testimony regarding the Reconsideration (PK) effort by Saka Tatal, someone who has been convicted guilty in the murder case of Vina and Eki in Cirebon in 2016. Saka Tatal has been released after serving a prison sentence for the case. "I am willing and ready. The legal counsel is also willing (to provide testimony)," said Pegi.

He conveyed that his party could assist in the process of submitting the PK according to their capacity and ability. In addition, he admitted to being willing to provide information regarding the submission of PK to be carried out by the other seven convicts in the case.

"However, Pegi said that currently the focus is to rest for a while after being released from the West Java Regional Police Detention Center, following the acceptance of the pretrial lawsuit by the Bandung District Court. "When I heard the judge granted the lawsuit, I felt happy and relieved. Finally, justice can be upheld," she said."

Meanwhile, Titin Prialianti, one of Saka Tatal's legal representatives, said that they had submitted a legal effort in the form of a cassation appeal to the Cirebon District Court on Monday, July 8, 2024. Titin said that in the submission of the cassation appeal, several important documents including novum had been handed over to the Cirebon District Court. He mentioned that one of the things considered as novum was the absence of stab wounds on Eki's body. They hope that the Cirebon District Court can deliver the cassation appeal documents to the Supreme Court.
