"And your Lord has commanded that you shall not worship anyone but Him, and you shall treat your parents with kindness and compassion. If one or both of them reach old age in your care, do not say 'uff' to them or scold them, but speak to them with respect. And lower yourself in humility and say, 'My Lord, have mercy on them both, as they raised me when I was young.' (Quran Surah Al-Isra, verses 23-24)"

Ulama Tafsir others also said, "Indeed, a righteous child can elevate the status of both parents in the afterlife. The righteous child will later plead to Allah SWT to admit their parents into paradise, and likewise, the righteous parents can elevate the status of their child (to enter paradise)." Here is a prayer for a deceased father to enter heaven, in a short version: "رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا" Translation: "My Lord, forgive me and my parents, and have mercy on them as they have raised me when I was young."

"O Allah, forgive, have mercy, free and release him. And honor his dwelling place, expand it. And honor his dwelling place, widen his entrance, wash him with clear and cool water, and cleanse him from all sins like a clean white garment free from dirt, and replace his house with a better one than what he left behind, and a better family than what he left behind, and a better wife than what he left behind as well. Enter him into paradise, and protect him from the torment of the grave and the torment of the hellfire."

"رَبِّ اَوْزِعْنِيْ اَنْ اَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِيْ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَى وَالِدَيَّ وَاَنْ اَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَاَصْلِحْ لِيْ فِيْ ذُرِّيَّتِيْ" Translation: "O my Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And make righteous for me my offspring."
