Dream - Muslims are encouraged to increase their worship during the last 10 nights of Ramadan. Most scholars from the Shafi'i school of thought believe that the night of Lailatul Qadar falls within this period. This belief is based on a hadith that confirms that the Prophet Muhammad encouraged Muslims to increase their worship during the last 10 nights of Ramadan. One of the recommended acts of worship is to recite prayers in anticipation of the night of Lailatul Qadar.
The following is the translation of the 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any HTML tags: "The following is the prayer for the night of Lailatul Qadar, which is believed to have originated from the hadith narrated by Sayyidah Aisyah radhiyallahu 'anha. These prayers are often practiced by Muslims in mosques in Indonesia. Therefore, let us practice the prayer to welcome the night of Lailatul Qadar with full devotion."
"The prayer to welcome the first night of Lailatul Qadar is a prayer narrated by Imam Tirmidzi. The recitation of this prayer is taken from the following quote from the hadith narrated by Imam At-Tirmidzi: 'Aisyah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: 'I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, if I were to know which night is Lailatul Qadar, what should I supplicate?' He replied: 'Say: O Allah, You are the Most Pardoning, You love to pardon, so pardon me.'" The prayer is mentioned in Tirmidzi's narration."
Translation: "Meaning: From Sayyidah Aisyah RA, she narrated that she once asked, 'O Rasulullah, if I happen to find Lailatul Qadar, what prayer should I recite?' Rasulullah saw answered, 'Recite, 'Allāhumma innaka afuwwun karīmun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annī.' (Narrated by At-Tirmidzi)"
Translation: "Meaning: O Allah, truly You are the Most Forgiving and Merciful. You also love forgiveness. Therefore, forgive me (forgive us)."
The second prayer is quoted from a hadith narrated by five hadith imams except Imam Abu Dawud. The hadith reads as follows:
Translation: "Meaning: From Sayyidah Aisyah RA, she narrated that she once asked: O Messenger of Allah, what is your opinion if I know that a certain night is Lailatul Qadar? What prayer should I recite? The Prophet Muhammad replied: Recite, 'Allāhumma innaka afuwwun tuhibbul 'afwa fa'fu 'annī.' (Narrated by five Hadith imams except Imam Abu Dawud. This Hadith is recognized as authentic by Imam A-Tirmidzi and Al-Hakim)."
Meaning: O Allah, truly You are the Most Forgiving. You also love forgiveness. Therefore, forgive me (forgive us).
"Allah directly mentions the virtue of Lailatul Qadar in His statement in Surah Ad-Dukhan, affirming that the night is full of blessings. 'Indeed, We sent it (the Quran) down during a blessed night. Indeed, We are the ones who warn. On that night, every matter of wisdom is made clear.' (Quran, Ad-Dukhan: 3-4)"
Lailatul Qadar is also known as the night full of forgiveness. This refers to the hadith narrated by Abu Hurairah RA, where those who worship on this night equivalent to a thousand months will receive forgiveness from Allah for their past sins. Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet Muhammad SAW said, "Whoever worships on the night of Lailatul Qadar with faith and hopes for rewards from Allah, his past sins will be forgiven." (Narrated by Imam Bukhari and Muslim)
The virtue of the night of Lailatul Qadar is described as a night better than a thousand months. This means that the reward for worshiping sincerely on that night is better than the worship performed for a thousand months. A thousand months is equivalent to 83 years and 4 months. In the book Durratun Nasihin, it is explained that Allah called out to the Prophet Muhammad (SAW): "O Muhammad, performing two units of prayer on the night of honor (Lailatul Qadar) is better for you and your people than fighting in the time of the Children of Israel for a thousand months."
