Dream - Idul Adha, which is celebrated every 10th of Dzulhijjah, is welcomed by Muslims by performing the Eid prayer in the morning. Afterwards, a number of congregants will participate in the activity of sacrificing animals near the mosque or at a location determined by the committee. The meat from the sacrificial animals is then distributed to the community. The sacrificial ritual does not only take place for one day. Some continue it on the day after Eid prayer for certain reasons. Now, Dream friends who receive sacrificial meat should not forget to recite a prayer when receiving the meat.
This practice is a form of gratitude for the blessings and grace bestowed by Allah SWT through the accepted sacrificial meat. Here is the prayer recitation when receiving sacrificial meat that can be practiced as summarized by Dream through various sources.
Prayer when receiving sacrificial meat is actually not taught by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). However, there are other prayers as a form of gratitude that friends of Dream can recite.
The following is a prayer when Prophet Muhammad was given food and can also be practiced by Dream friends when receiving sacrificial meat: اللَّهُمَّ أَطْعِمْ مَنْ أَطْعَمَنِي وَاسْقِ مَنْ سَقَانِي Allahumma ath'im man ath'amani wasqi man saqani. It means: "O Allah, feed those who have fed me and give drink to those who have given me drink."
In addition, you can also recite a prayer when receiving sustenance from others as follows: اَلْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي رَزَقَنِي هَذَا مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنْ وَلَا قُوَّةٍ، اللهُمَّ بارك فِيهِ Alhamdu lillahi alladhi razaqani hadha min ghayri hawlin minni wa la quwwatin, Allahumma barik fihi. It means: "All praise be to Allah who has provided me with this sustenance without any power or strength from me. O Allah, bless this sustenance."
"There are several individuals or groups who are entitled to receive the following sacrificial meat:"
The following 'Bahasa' text translated to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "One of the people who are entitled to receive sacrificial meat is the shohibul kurban, namely the person who performs the sacrifice. He is entitled to receive one-third of the sacrificial animal. In fact, this is also explained in the hadith of the Prophet, which recommends that the person who sacrifices should eat some of the sacrificial animal. Because consuming the results of the sacrifice is part of worship. However, the shohibul kurban is prohibited from selling any part of the sacrificial animal, including the meat, fur, and skin."
The people who are also entitled to receive sacrificial meat are neighbors, friends, and relatives. Even though they are not in need. The distribution of sacrificial meat to neighbors, friends, and relatives can strengthen the bond of kinship and also inspire the spirit of sharing, especially on the day of Eid al-Adha. They are entitled to receive one-third of the sacrificial meat.
The following group entitled to receive sacrificial meat is the poor. As it is known, the poor are people who are in great need, including food. By giving them a portion of the sacrificial meat, it is equivalent to lightening their burden and providing happiness.
The following 'Bahasa' text translated to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "Poor people have the right to receive one-third of the sacrificial meat. In fact, the giver of the sacrifice is allowed to give additional portions of meat to the poor. This shows concern and compassion for others."
