"Because restraining is better than letting it out. Where there are various wisdom that you can obtain. Well, here are some wisdom of restraining anger and its evidence as summarized by Dream through various sources."
The first wisdom in restraining anger is to distance oneself from the wrath of Allah SWT. In fact, this has been explained in the hadith and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said 'do not get angry' three times. "He (Abdullah bin Amr) asked the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), "What can keep me away from the wrath of Allah SWT?" Then the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said, "Do not get angry." (Narrated by Ahmad)
Then, in another narration, the Prophet Muhammad repeated his advice three times: "Do not get angry."
"To restrain anger is certainly not an easy matter. However, if my friend Dream is able to restrain it, God willing, you will receive its wisdom. That is, Allah SWT will cover your faults on the Day of Judgment and grant you security. As explained in the following hadith:"
"Whoever leaves his anger, Allah will cover his faults. Whoever suppresses his anger even though he is capable of expressing it, Allah 'azza wa jalla will fill his heart with peace on the Day of Judgment." (HR. Ibn Asakir)
People who are easily angry usually have the potential to cause other impacts. Such as fighting to physical confrontation. This kind of thing will actually make the problem longer. Meanwhile, in a hadith it is explained that a person who can control his anger is greater than a person who wrestles. The Prophet Muhammad said: "The strong person is not the one who is skilled in wrestling, but the one who can control himself when angry." (HR. Bukhari Muslim)
The next wisdom of controlling anger is because anger is the beginning of evil. So, if Dream's friend feels like someone who finds it difficult to control anger, learn to control it from now on. Because controlling anger doesn't mean you lose. But you have acted maturely and wisely in facing a problem.
This will certainly also be a good example for people around. The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said: "Anger is the beginning of all evil." (Muttafaq Alaih)
"According to the teachings of Islam and the example of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, there are several ways to suppress anger:"
The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said: 'If one of you becomes angry, let him say, 'Audzubillah min asy-syaithanir rajiim' (I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan).' (Narrated by Bukhari and Muslim)
When angry, Dream's friend is advised to remain silent. The Prophet Muhammad said, "If one of you is angry, let him remain silent." (HR. Ahmad)
Anger is a form of fire that comes from the devil. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Indeed, anger comes from the devil, and the devil was created from fire. Fire can only be extinguished with water, so if one of you is angry, let them perform ablution." (Narrated by Abu Dawud)
"If someone is angry while standing, then they should sit down. If they are still angry, they should lie down. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: 'If one of you is angry while standing, let them sit down, for it will calm their anger. If not, then let them lie down.' (HR. Abu Dawud)"
In the Qur'an, Allah SWT says: "And those who restrain their anger and forgive others, Allah loves those who do good." (QS. Ali 'Imran: 134)
Sometimes, leaving a situation or place that triggers anger can help calm emotions. Because if you continue to be in that condition, then you will find it difficult to calm yourself. It can even further increase the feeling of anger.
By following the example and advice of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh, it is hoped that we can be better in controlling and suppressing anger.
