The second position is occupied by Gerindra, which spent the second largest campaign funds after PDIP. Gerindra spent Rp92.8 billion throughout the campaign period. Surprisingly, the party that spent the third most campaign funds is Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI). The party, led by President Joko Widodo's youngest son, Kaesang Pangarep, spent Rp80.09 billion for the campaign.
"After Gerindra, in third place is the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) which recorded campaign expenses of Rp 80 billion or Rp.80,096,534,876.64," stated Idham.
The campaign expenditure of PSI surpasses the big parties that already have seats in the DPR (People's Representative Council). However, PSI is a non-parliamentary party. The quick count results from several survey institutions state that PSI will not pass into the DPR this year.
Meanwhile, the National Awakening Party (PKB) led by Muhaimin Iskandar does not need to spend a large amount of money to be able to achieve significant votes. PKB spent campaign funds below Rp1 billion.
Idham said, the submission of campaign fund usage reports should be done no later than 15 days after the voting or starting from February 23-29, 2024.
"After receiving the Campaign Fund Report from the Participants of the 2024 Election, the Public Accountant Office (KAP) appointed by the KPU will conduct an audit on the received reports no later than 30 (thirty) days from the date KAP receives the Campaign Fund Report from the Participants of the Election," stated Idham.
