Dream - Stories about tolerance have colored this year's Ramadan for the past few weeks. Previously, Muslims were presented with acts of war takjil from non-Islamic citizens (nonis) that immediately went viral.
After that is the phenomenon of nonis people hoarding koko clothes and clothes for Lebaran. Apparently, the form of tolerance from Muslims is also felt by a nonis boarding child despite a touching story.
So the story goes, this boarding house student was still studying at that time and experiencing financial problems. "I was running out of money that month because I had to fulfill many college needs," he began his story. Coincidentally, he experienced this unfortunate fate during the fasting month of Ramadan.
At that time, he had not eaten for two days because he had run out of money for his college expenses. There was no other choice, he suddenly had an idea to go to a mosque. He insisted on coming to the mosque because usually there is iftar food during the month of Ramadan.
The boarding house child hopes to get takjil food from the mosque. Disposing of his embarrassment, he comes to the mosque before iftar time. After the congregation breaks their fast and finishes the Maghrib prayer, he sees that there are still many leftovers of cakes and food.
So the boarding house student asked for permission from the people in the mosque to ask for leftover cake for him to eat. "Sir, may I ask for the leftover cake? Just a little, I haven't eaten, Sir. I am not fasting because I am non-Muslim," he said to the congregation.
The boarding house child was already worried that his request would be rejected. But who would have thought that the mosque caretaker would actually welcome him kindly. The man immediately smiled and said, "Come in, have a seat here." The boarding house child then entered the mosque and was immediately served with cakes.
Not only cakes, the mosque caretaker also allows the noni boarding children to eat rice and side dishes that are available. "Eat a lot, finish it. If tomorrow you're hungry again, you can come again," said the mosque caretaker.
Receiving a warm welcome and help from people of different beliefs when experiencing difficulties, made the boarding house resident cry. The boarding house resident also ate the served takjil while shedding tears. He also promised to repay the kindness of the mosque.
In short, the boarding house student finally graduated from college and is now working. He also did not forget his promise during difficult times. "I always make time to go to the mosque to fill the charity box or bring takjil for them," he concluded, closing this touching story.
