Dream - Fake police from South Sumatra named David Heydar Pratama (26) was arrested after deceiving a girl from Bandung out of Rp165 million. Bandung Metropolitan Police Chief, Commissioner Budi Sartono, said that the perpetrator committed fraud by pretending to be a police officer with the rank of AKP serving in the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim Polri).
Budi added, the perpetrator got acquainted with the victim through the Tinder application. In his profile, the perpetrator used the account name Antonius Felix Rompas and wore a complete police uniform attribute to make the victim believe. "The modus operandi of the person in question is known from the Tinder application with the victim and claims to be a police officer named Antonius Felix Rompas with the rank of AKP and serving at Bareskrim Polri," said Budi in his statement, quoted on Thursday, March 7, 2024.
After getting to know each other on Tinder, the perpetrator dated the victim in December 2023. Since then, the perpetrator has often borrowed money from the victim, totaling Rp165 million.

However, the culprit suddenly disappeared and there was no news after being lent money. The victim then reported the incident to the police.
Not long after being reported, the perpetrator was successfully apprehended in his boarding house located in the Situ Dago area, Bandung. From the interrogation, the perpetrator admitted that the money obtained from the victim was used for playing slot gambling. Not only in Bandung, David has also performed similar actions in Sukabumi.

In the arrest, the police also seized evidence in the form of police uniforms, a badge, and a gun-shaped lighter.
As a result of his actions, the perpetrator is charged under Article 378 of the Criminal Code regarding fraud with a threat of four years imprisonment.
