Like the story of a husband and wife who were appointed as Professors at Gadjah Mada University together on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Quoting from UGM's official website, the husband and wife are Prof Muslikhin Hidayat (50) and Prof Ria Millati (51). They were appointed simultaneously, with Muslikhin being a professor in the field of Systems Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering. Meanwhile, Ria Millati is a professor in the field of Food Science and Agricultural Products in the Faculty of Agricultural Technology.

The couple, who already have three children, were initially classmates during their undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering at UGM. After that, they both pursued their PhD studies in Sweden.

Both of them also registered to become lecturers at UGM, but in different faculties. Muslikhin registered to become a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, while Ria registered at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. "By coincidence, we both pursued our PhD studies in Sweden. We both returned to study together," said Ria Millati to the journalist.

Ria admitted to being grateful to be able to obtain the title of professor together with her husband. According to her, when doing something, she applies the principle of sincere heart without expecting anything in return for what has been done.

Strengthened simultaneously with her husband, it turns out that it was not planned from the beginning. Because, the appointment of the professor position for Muslikhin was made at the end of 2021. Meanwhile, Ria submitted it at the beginning of 2023.
