Dream - A video shows a man carrying a bottle filled with sand in Jabal Malaikat in Saudi Arabia went viral on social media. Apparently, the man was returning the sand that he had taken when he visited the Holy Land. In the video uploaded by the TikTok account @yumeihomekkah, it shows the man wearing a shirt and black sarong spreading the sand stored in the bottle around him. "I apologize, Jabal, angel sand. Mix, return it to its original place, one, two, yes, here," he said.
It is said that the man always has strange dreams after taking sand from Jabal Malaikat. However, it is not explained what kind of dream the man experienced. "This man took sand from Jabal Malaikat but always has dreams," wrote the video description. Restless because of continuously having strange dreams, the man is willing to perform Umrah again and return the sand.
"Rela umroh kembali untuk mengembalikan pasirnya," ujarnya. Jabal Malaikat is a mountain in Saudi Arabia known as the place where thousands of angels descended to assist the troops of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Battle of Badr. Hajj and Umrah pilgrims are indeed prohibited from taking sand from Jabal Malaikat and bringing it back to their homeland.
This prohibition is based on important religious and ethical reasons that need to be understood by the congregation. Ibn Hazm Rahimatullah, an expert in jurisprudence and history, revealed that taking soil or stones from a permissible place is allowed. Especially if the soil is then returned to forbidden land. "It is not permissible to take out any amount, whether it is soil or stones, from forbidden land to permissible land. And Atha' said: 'It is disliked to take out forbidden soil to permissible land or to put permissible soil into forbidden land'."
The evidence is reinforced by the content of the book Al-Mausu'ah Al Fiqhiyyah part 17/195 which mentions the Shafi'i school of thought that forbids moving soil and stones from a forbidden land to a permissible place. If someone moves them, they must be returned to the forbidden land.
"Syafi'i school clearly prohibits moving soil and stones from forbidden land, as well as anything made from its soil - such as pitchers and others - to permissible land, so (if someone moves them) they must be returned to the forbidden land. The Spanish historian revealed to anyone who has taken the forbidden land that they should seek forgiveness from Allah SWT for their actions. Then, the person must return it to the possible forbidden place."
"Whoever has taken something from the forbidden land out (of the land) of the forbidden, should seek forgiveness from Allah ta'ala for his actions. Then he must return it to the forbidden place wherever possible. It doesn't have to be himself who returns it." Report: Nisya Aprilya
