President Jokowi has issued a Presidential Decree regarding the dismissal of Bambang from the position of Head of IKN Authority. Furthermore, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono and Deputy Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning Raja Juli Antoni have been appointed as Acting Head of the Authority and Acting Deputy Head of the Authority. The resignation of Bambang Susantono and his deputy occurred amidst plans for another groundbreaking event at IKN. The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) revealed that the groundbreaking for phase 6 of the project at IKN is scheduled to take place in the first week of June 2024.

According to the Chairman of the IKN Infrastructure Task Force, Danis Sumadilaga, based on preliminary information, the groundbreaking is projected to take place on June 4 and 5.
