Niko added, five out of the total of six witnesses examined by the police claimed to not know Pegi Setiawan. Meanwhile, another witness named Aep initially claimed to not know him. However, now the person has changed their statement. "Back in 2016, he said that he didn't know Pegi during the trial. Now he admits that he knows him. What's going on? It is suspected that there are quotation marks," he said.

In addition, Niko said there is other evidence that strengthens it, namely the payment record of Pegi Setiawan's salary. "The evidence is that he is in Bandung, helping his father in Bandung to work. The evidence is that he has a salary. All of that exists. There is (salary payment)," he said.

In this case, Niko asked the police not to rush to designate Pegi Setiawan alias Perong as a suspect. "We agree that the perpetrator of rape, murder, and all these kinds of crimes should be arrested, but we shouldn't sacrifice others. The real perpetrator should be pursued and for us, it is too early for the police to say that Pegi is the perpetrator and it is also too early to say that the DPO is fictional," he said.
