"Dream - A student with the initials HOK (19) was arrested by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-Terror Police of Indonesia on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, in the evening. Densus 88 arrested HOK for allegedly intending to carry out a bomb terror at several places of worship in Malang, East Java."
The translation of "Diduga Terafiliasi ISIS" to English is "Allegedly Affiliated with ISIS".
The spokesperson for Densus 88 Anti-Terror Polri, Kombes Aswin Siregar, stated that HOK is a supporter of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) which is part of the terrorist network Daulah Islamiyah.
"HOK is a supporter of ISIS or the Islamic State," said Aswin quoted from merdeka.com, Thursday, August 1, 2024.
"Aswin stated that Densus 88 Anti-Terror Polri is currently still investigating HOK's involvement in the network. This includes checking its connections with other ISIS groups. "Densus 88 is still investigating the possibility of connections with other ISIS support networks," he said."
"In addition to investigating the involvement of the suspects in the terrorist network, Aswin mentioned that Densus 88 Anti-Terror Polri has arrested several other individuals who are currently still being questioned. "Indeed, there are several people who have been asked for information, including their parents or family members," said Aswin."
The translation of "Ditemukan Bahan Peledak" to English is "Explosive Materials Found."
"In the capture of HOK, Densus 88 Anti-terror Polri seized TATP explosives, which are the most sensitive explosives. This material can have a high explosive power and is very sensitive to impact, temperature changes, and friction."
"Even because it is dangerous, TATP is often nicknamed 'Mother Of Satan'. In addition to explosives, slingshots, yellow needles, syringes, and marbles were also found."
"Due to involvement in a terrorist network, HOK is charged under Article 15 in conjunction with Article 7 and/or Article 9 of Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning the Eradication of Terrorism Crimes."
