It is alleged that the former regent of Cirebon referred to by Hotman Paris is Sunjaya Purwadi Sastra. He served as the regent of Cirebon from 2014 to 2019, precisely when the Vina murder case occurred in 2016. In 2008, Sunjaya Purwadi failed to achieve his ambition to become the regent of Cirebon because he ran as an independent candidate.

Then in 2013, he paired with Gatot who was supported by the PDI Perjuangan party and won in the second round. In the next period as the incumbent, he ran again in the Cirebon Regional Election and was re-elected. Sunjaya was officially inaugurated for the second term on May 17, 2019. However, just 15 minutes into his term, Sunjaya was already suspended.

This is because Sunjaya was designated as a suspect in a corruption case. He was found guilty in the trial for accepting bribes, gratuities, and engaging in the buying and selling of positions. Meanwhile, Sunjaya's wife, Wahyu Tjiptaningsih, asserts that their family, especially their child, has no involvement in the murder case of Vina Cirebon.

"Wahyu mentioned that none of his children have the names Dani or Andi as discussed in the DPO case of Vina. 'Perhaps netizens are relating it to my child named Ramadhani @Ramadanisastra, who has a similar name, but I emphasize once again, Dani mentioned in the DPO case of Vina is not my child,' he concluded."
