"Dream - Gould David, an Orthodox Christian, has dedicated himself for 45 years as a priest. After more than four decades of service in one of the churches in Australia, David decided to convert to Islam. As reported by TNN, David's conversion story began when he went to Perth to attend the funeral of his brother-in-law."
He then booked a hotel that was 150 meters away from the main mosque in Perth. When passing by the mosque, David felt a strange urge to visit it. He then met a kind-hearted Imam. After spending a long time together, the Imam of the mosque gave David a gift in the form of the Quran.
In an exclusive interview on The Deen Show which aired in January 2024, David recounted that after receiving the gift, he only kept it for several years.
"For years, I kept the Quran on my bookshelf, hardly touching it," he said. "But this time, I returned to the hotel and knelt down, begging God to show me the absolute truth. Whether Islam is true or not, whether Christianity is true or false, whether Orthodox Christianity is true or false. I prayed for a while while kneeling," he continued."
Shortly after that, David sat down and began reading the Quran. He studied it until he finally found an important meaning. "I intuitively, intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually realize that this is the true word of God," he said.
Belief is what made him convert and change his name to Abdul Rahman. He even performed his first Umrah during this year's Ramadan. David explained that he couldn't ignore the Quran just as he couldn't ignore the fact that God is One, without any partners or children. He also said that he must pray as Prophet Muhammad SAW commanded to pray.
