Dream - Chinese badminton player, Zhang Zhi Jie, passed away after fainting on the field while competing in the Asia Junior Championship (AJC) 2024 in Yogyakarta, on Sunday, June 30th, 2024. He fell and had seizures while playing against Kazuma Kawano from Japan. Unfortunately, his life could not be saved even after being taken to the hospital.

Upon hearing the news of his sibling's death, Zhang Zhi Jie's younger brother highlighted the poor local medical conditions. He admitted that he has not been able to accept the tragedy that befell his brother. "He was a very good child. He used all the bonuses he received at the beginning of this year to buy gifts for me, our mother, and our grandparents. He studied badminton very seriously. Yesterday, he was still sharing a meal moment with our mother," said the older brother in a Weibo post screenshot that is circulating.

The older brother was shocked when he saw Zhang Zhi Jie's incident in yesterday's tournament broadcast, especially since he couldn't immediately come to Indonesia to follow his younger brother. "How can I accept this? I even thought this was the worst result of an incompetent medical team and poor medical condition," he said.

The older brother saw in the footage that Zhang Zhi Jie managed to raise his head after collapsing. The medical team was considered to be quite slow. The family also always communicated with the coach through the telephone until they were informed that Zhang Zhi Jie had passed away.
